Jerusalem, 23 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police reported that today, Tuesday, an unidentified former local Public official was arrested for making statements in praise and promotion of terrorism.
The arrest, on the charge of incitement to terror under the Counter-Terrorism Law, 2016, concerns public statements made in 2022 by the suspect, a northern resident, who at that time held a public office. According to the Suspicion, as part of a speech he delivered at a rally, words of “praise and identification with terrorists and terror organizations” were expressed, alongside “calls for struggle against the State of Israel.”
The suspect was brought before the court for the purpose of imposing restrictive conditions upon him, including, among others, a 30-day exclusion from the Judea and Samaria area, alongside commitments and financial guarantees (bail).
