Jerusalem, 15 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Political-Security Cabinet on Monday approved a new plan to advance flood protection planning in Judea and Samaria, allocating NIS 10 million ($3.4 million) in 2027 to map drainage basins and develop a comprehensive hydrological plan for the region. The initiative, promoted by The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, aims to protect communities, infrastructure and agricultural areas both in Judea and Samaria and downstream areas inside Israel.
Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter called the move a breakthrough, saying it would allow authorities to address a long-standing planning gap. The plan will be carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, the Civil Administration and drainage authorities.
